Meetup details by Cyber Risk in Melbourne

After such an incredible and well-received launch in March, we are now back again with a special treat for you.

Announcing Cyber Risk Meetup’s collaboration with the organisers of IoT Festival & Cybersecurity Meetup for the 1st time ever!

You can get the details of the program and your free ticket here:

With more than 20 Billion devices connected to the internet by 2020, the Internet of Things is an industrial revolution for the 21st Century. But how do we secure those 20B+ connected devices and the masses of data they produce?

Another interesting industry trend we are seeing these days is the evolution of drone security as drone technology continues to innovate. Drones used for business are at risk of being hacked and hijacked, and those used by malicious operators are being used to drop dangerous explosives on the battlefield, drugs into prisons and attack WiFi networks in out-of-reach skyscrapers.

Join us for an informative evening discussing all things IoT security with industry expert Matt Tett and Mike Monnik. And as always, plenty of opportunity for casual networking over refreshments and a couple of drinks! 6p.m arrival for a 6.30p.m kick off.

Matt Tett is the chair of IoT Alliance Australia Work Stream 5 – Cyber Security and Network Resilience. He also serves on the Communications Alliance Cyber Security Reference Panel (CSRP), the Internet Australia Cyber Security SIG, and is a member of the research advisory committee for the Internet Commerce Security Laboratory at Federation University.

Mike Monnik runs the Drone Security (DRS) capability for Privasec, where he performs penetration testing and red teaming. Previously, Mike has spent time in the Department of Defense, and headed up the BAE Systems (AI) Drone Security Program, Mike founded DroneSec two years ago as an independent consulting firm to focusing on both offensive and defensive drone security. Mike’s passions include Open-Source Intelligence (OSINT), flying his drones and organising the monthly SecTalks Melbourne Meetup group.

With thanks to our sponsors: Privasec, RMIT University and IoT Festival.
