The security architecture working group is providing a platform for security architects in Melbourne to meet peers and exchange ideas to improve their security architecture delivery capabilities.

Meetings are organised by the ISACA Melbourne Chapter, the venue is sponsored by Deloitte Risk Advisory, and sessions are facilitated by Andreas Dannert, Immediate Past President of the ISACA Melbourne Chapter and Enterprise Security Architect within Deloitte Risk Advisory.

Attendees are encouraged to bring an open mind and willingness to share their experiences in order for everyone to get value out of these meetings.

Meeting Topic: Ensuring your plans get implemented!

Working in security architecture naturally means developing plans to either implement a new security strategy for a whole organisation, called an Enterprise Security Architecture, developing a security architecture for a project, product or service also known as Solution Security Architecture, or looking at the security architecture capability of an organisation itself. In any of these scenarios we need to ensure that what was planned for in the security architecture gets correctly implemented since half-baked solutions can compromise security of a product or a whole organisation. The question is: How do we do this?

In this working group session we want to discuss and explore how we can ensure that a good security architecture is still a good one once it go implemented. How can we, as security architects, evaluate and support the implementation process? How can we work hand in hand with designers and “builders”, ensuring that what we planned for gets appropriately implemented? If you think you know how, have been struggling with it or never even thought about it, then you should come along to this session and help us explore the topic.

Chatham House Rules

All working group sessions are held under “Chatham House Rules“. Please be mindful of this when attending the meetings.
